Canadian Immigration News: Canada ranked as best place to do business by Forbes

07-04-12

Respected business publication Forbes recently ranked Canada the best place to do business, which is one of many reasons it is an attractive destination for immigrants.

Forbes factored in 11 criteria when assessing 134 countries for their annual “Best Countries For Business” feature, including factors such as investor protection, corruption, and red tape.

In addition, it cited Canada’s economic stability as a leading reason Canada emerged ahead of all other countries. While the world economy struggled in 2008 and subsequent years, beginning with a mortgage lending crisis in the United States, Canada’s banks remained stable throughout. This stability is expected to continue.

“While the U.S. is paralyzed by fears of a double-dip recession and Europe struggles with sovereign debt issues, Canada’s economy has held up better than most,” wrote Kurt Badenhausen of Forbes.
