Future of Ontario Entirely Dependent on Canadian Immigration

07-04-12

Canadian federal and provincial governments are now funding programs to help Canadian immigrants secure employment in their fields. In 5 years, statistics show that the province of Ontario will be entirely dependent on Canadian immigration to fulfill Ontario’s labor market growth.

The Ontario government will invest $35 million over the next two years, while the Canadian government will put in another $22 million over the same time period, to pay for 70 bridge training projects in the Greater Toronto Region. These funds will cover the cost of job training, preparation for licensing and Canadian work experience.
