Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program
The Saskatchewan PNP, known as the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) can provide an easier and expedited means of entry into Canada. Saskatchewan retains the right to nominate eligible applicants to the federal government for landed immigrant status.
Referral of Family Members
Eligible applicants must:
- Have at least one year of work experience in the past 10 years in your intended occupation
- Have a job offer for permanent, full time employment in Saskatchewan in either an occupation or trade in the NOC level "A" or "B", or in a designated trade in Saskatchewan.
- Have adequate language proficiency in English and/or French
- Be between 18 - 49 years old.
- Have a signed affidavit of support from your supporting family household in Saskatchewan.
- Have completed post-secondary education, training, or apprenticeship of at least one year in length that has resulted in a diploma, a certificate, or a degree.
Health Professionals
Eligible applicants must:
- Have an offer of full-time permanent employment
- Be working in Saskatchewan on a temporary work permit
- Contact the appropriate organization to determine what further studies, examinations and/or certifications you need to qualify for jobs in Saskatchewan
Skilled Workers
Eligible applicants must:
- Have a job offer that is permanent and full time as a: skilled worker/professional/managerial position or in a designated trade
- Have a job offer that is permanent and full time as a: worker who has already worked in Saskatchewan for a minimum of six months on a temporary work permit.
Long Haul Truck Drivers
- Eligible applicants must:
- Have minimum two years of trucking experience
- Have adequate proficiency in English
- Be able to drive to the United States
- Have a valid Saskatchewan Class 1A trucking license
- Have a temporary job offer from a Saskatchewan trucking firm
- Obtain a Canadian work permit
Students
Eligible applicants must be eligible for 1 of the 2 possible streams:
Post-Graduation Work Permit Stream
You may qualify to apply under the SINP Student Category: Post-Graduation Work Permit Stream if:
- You have graduated with a certificate, diploma or degree from a recognized post-secondary educational institution in Canada. The program's duration must be minimum 1 academic year
- If you graduated from a recognized post-secondary institution in Saskatchewan you must have worked for at least six months (with minimum 960 hours) of paid employment in Saskatchewan. If you have graduated from a recognized post-secondary institution outside of Saskatchewan you must have worked for 12 consecutive months of paid full time employment (with a minimum of 1920 hours) in Saskatchewan after graduation.
- You have applied to the Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) to receive a post-graduation work permit,
- You have a current, permanent, full-time job offer from a Saskatchewan employer
- If your job offer falls into a NOC C or D, you must have a minimum of Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB) 4 or higher English Language ability across all 4 categories (listening, speaking, reading and writing). For more information on what language assessments are acceptable
Master's and PhD Graduate Stream
You may qualify to apply under the SINP Student Category: Master's and PhD Graduate Stream if:
- You have completed a Master's and/or PhD program that with at least one academic year of full-time study from the University of Saskatchewan or the University of Regina.
- You are applying within two years of the date on which your degree was granted and from a country in which you have legal status.
- You intend to live in Saskatchewan and are able to demonstrate your ability to settle and work in Saskatchewan with at least one of the following:
- Have at least six months of employment history in your field of training in Saskatchewan and/or are currently employed in your field of training or have received a job offer in your field of training in Saskatchewan for a term longer than six months;
- You have enough money to sustain for a short time without work ($10,000 for you and $2,000 for each accompanying family members.
- If you do not have an offer of employment or if your job offer falls into a NOC "C" or "D", you must have a minimum of Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB) 4 or higher English Language ability across all 4 categories (listening, speaking, reading, and writing).
Farmers
Eligible applicants must:
- Have at least three years of experience in farm operations or management
- Have a net worth of $300,000
- Submit a proposal for a commercial farming opportunity in the province
- Can exhibit marketable employment skills
- Conduct an exploratory visit to Saskatchewan prior to submitting their application
- Have a net worth of $500,000
- Demonstrate that they are knowledgeable farm operators
This category also has a Young Farmers Stream, for applicants who:
- Are under the age of 40
- Supply a signed offer to purchase a Saskatchewan farming operation, or land for a new farm operation
- Visit Saskatchewan within the two-year period prior to making a signed offer to purchase
Entrepreneurs
Eligible applicants must:
- Have minimum three years entrepreneurial or relevant business management experience.
- Have intent to reside and actively invest in Saskatchewan, which is evaluated using the Intent Grading Grid.
- Have a minimum net worth of $300,000 Canadian Dollars (CAD)
- Have accumulation of net worth through legal means, which can be verified.
- Plan to own at least 33.3% of the proposed or existing business, or invest CDN $1-million in the business
- Complete a Business Establishment Plan demonstrating the applicant's intent
- Provide a full disclosure of business assets and debt
- Make a good faith deposit of CDN $75,000
Hospitality Sector Pilot Project
Eligible applicants must:
- Have been employed by a Saskatchewan employer for 6 months in one of the jobs below
- Have a high school education
- Have adequate proficiency of the English language
- Hold a valid Temporary Work Permit for one of the following occupations:
- Food/Beverage Server
- Food Counter Attendant/Kitchen Helper
- Housekeeping/Cleaning Staff
